What's happening??? Don't tell me that all disney-ians are abandoning this bloggie again? Don't!!! This bloggie is for all you guys to write down your thoughts and your daily happenings too. It's not only for just volunteering... Just take a look at TMNT or Pepsi Twist's bloggie...their's is just so damn happening!!! Why is my group so boring??? If you don't want me to nag, or to call you guys boring, do something!!!

Living in a world where people are self-centered, selfish, uncompassionate, and even emotionless, sparks off a new series of concerns in this ever-changing society, especially to me. As a volunteer, though I’ve not seen everything, I’ve been able to understand the plights, fear, sadness, distraught, and even loneliness of the under privileged. What we go through everyday, I believe, is not amount to the amount they have to face, suffer, and endure during their twilight years, and for some, even, throughout their lifetime.
A lot of us has always misunderstood these people as useless, a disgrace to the family, a financial and psychological burden, a curse they believed brought down from their ancestors for the wrong they did. But have we ever realized, just how are they alike to us? Is it their physical features? Is it their DNA structure? Or, is it how perfect they are?
Recently I was on a volunteer attachment under the YVIP for 2 weeks, and it was during this 2 weeks, only did I realize that true meaning and essence of volunteering. It’s (volunteering) not just about giving our time and services to these people who need more help than others, it’s also realizing how perfect they are to us, no matter what they are born with or without. Have we ever asked ourselves this? How perfect are they?
You may think that well, they’re not perfect at all, they’re people who’ve got mental problems, with physical disabilities. But have you, have we, ever thought about what being perfect was like from their point of view? They may not have the perfect set of fingers, the amount of IQ like us, the exact proportion of body parts, but in their own eyes, the things they do, the things they say, how they feel, just makes me feel so ashamed of myself. I don’t even have that amount of self-esteem, that mental drive to strive for the best, but believe me, theirs’ way surpasses ours. They just feel so perfect in their world, though they may not be in ours. But who cares? What they need is for us to accept them, to let them be part of society again, and not to condemn them, ostracize them, discriminate against them.
You think that’s tough? Let go of your view of perfectionism, instead of viewing a normal person as being physically perfect, let someone who’s either lost a limb, a couple of fingers, or even be mentally challenged, be the one you view as being the one who’s perfect. A lot of us think that being perfect is being very clever, being very well built, handsome, pretty, tall, and slim. But have we ever wondered to ourselves, are the less fortunate perfect in these aspects? No. But have you ever wondered how come their drive for the best, their self-esteem, and self-confidence is so high? It’s because they are perfect, not physically, but in terms of attitude, and character. They realize that being physically perfect isn’t important at all. So what if you’re someone who’s the cleverest person in the world with the best looking body and face, but you don’t have the slightest bit of compassion and emotion for other people? Compare yourself to these people. Ask yourself, are you as perfect as them, and not vice versa. You’ll realize just how much you’ve been missing out on in your entire lifetime here on earth.

*sobz* hehehe today is the last day for our attachment...so sadddd...THOMAS.....weh were u??? haiz.......our tf neva cum 1...soo sad...last dae summore...we had a "satay party"...hehhehe barbecuing in front of the kitchen...got our mini "sauna"...very hot lorh...but it was super fun!!! de dae started boring cuz we came at 2pm and there was nth to do...so we slacked at the volunteer room...after dat we went and make jelly...den we continued slacking at the volunteer room again...yesterdae's jelly was so much better...todaes one was so...haizz...horrible...it was bcuz of the fruits which were too big...such a disappointment...anywaezz...the "party" was fun lah...going to miss all dis...i mean even if we go back to de hm next time its going to b different...one wae or another its going to b different...sumhow its different...no more disney's attachment...haiz...................anywaez...juz hav to remember dat one ting ends another bgins...haizzz...............

Yozz everyone!
so far it is very fun at my home..moz of the residences are very frenli..de 1st time i went there i was not xactli expecting dem to b so frenli like dat..but dey are and dats cool! :p so far the outing dat i've went wif dem is to orchard..and it was fun looking at the lites and all..dat was on mon den on tues we made cookies..wahh it was tiring but very satisfying cuz dey all very hapi making de shapes. hehhee..todae we going to go esplanade! cant wait. got a feeling it going to b xciting oso..anywaezz gtg nowzzz or else i will b late meeting dem! : ) *toodlez*

okiez..i shall start writing then since i promise hoonie that i will write something if she does...heard from other groups that my home is the most happening one...haha...have alot of fun at the home these few days. bake cookies with the residences...brought to town to see christmas lighting and also thomas's performances!!! haha..well it was nice...oh yah and not forgetting the trip to the zoo...going to zoo with the residences is like bringing foreigners...introducing them to all the animals...haha...feel like tour guide...but it also make me realized what some singaporeans are like.. some just stare at us...some just dont let their children go near the residences...some of them just give us the look like why are we doing all these(like spending our time bringing them out)...which i feel is quite sad...but what i want to say is just dont be too bothered by them...know what we are doing then dont really need to care how they look at you...it's really fun bringing them out though it is tiring...okiez...some funny stuff to share...i am in a very lame but nice group...esp. thomas and shulian...always crack jokes that will make people freeze to death...hahaha...and jeffrry^aka^bu shi nan ren de nan ren will get so pissed off by their jokes...haha...sorrie hor jeff...haha...just leak out your 'secret'...not really a secret coz alot of people know it already hahaha...okie i shall add something on so he wont scream at me when he read this...haha...he is nan ren once in a while lah...kinda helpful while bakiing the cookies...stand there and stare at the oven until the cookies is baked...haha...i think i wrote quite alot already...will put in some photos we took during the outing when i learn how to...haha...need to get help coz i'm really bad at blogging...*take care everyone =)*

What's happening to my group? How come no one's writing in this blog? I and Hoonie agreed to having this blog is because we believed that you guys can actually share your views on different topics everyday during our debrief. But apparently, I've not seen a single one entering your bloggies. I really feel very sad and disappointed. This blog is not only for us to enlighten the public on the different volunteering sectors we're handling, but also it's for us to really open up our own minds and to also learn how to see things from different perspectives, hence the name Diferent Perspektifs.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to keep this blogging site alive and I'll make sure that I'll see entries in here by the end of this month...

ok, everyone seemed so enthu when i suggested the idea of blogging..but no one's doing it, so hopefully after i post, some other ppl will...if not, if not...i'll keep bugging u guys everyday during attachment! *haha... :) gives me some legitimacy in bugging u guys to blog since i already did it...believe, you'll wldnt regret it, yah, cos you'll prob look back on it some day and smile to yourself...can just type all the funny stuff you guys did like "bu shi nan ren de nan ren"...*haha...hope i dun get into trouble for this..but of course, it'll b good to have some stuff that you thot abt during e attachment and all that... :)
